CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Mount Mercy College Head Coach Ryan Scheckel has announced that North Scott High School cross country and track and field standouts Kara and Keely Danielsen will compete for the Mustangs in 2008-09. The twin sisters from Eldridge, Iowa, will compete in both sports at Mount Mercy. Kara and Keely were state qualifiers in cross country last fall. Kara was also the team’s Most Valuable Performer and co-winner of the Remember Where You’re From Award. Both received Special Coaches Commendation Awards during the 2007 track season.
"Kara and Keely are exactly the type of student-athlete that the Mount Mercy track and cross country programs look for," said Scheckel. "They have fun, hard-working personalities. They are leaders, and motivated to become better competitors and people. We are very excited to welcome them into the Mount Mercy family." |
